In numerology, your life path number is considered the most important number in your chart. It's calculated from your full date of birth by adding all the digits together and reducing them to a single digit — unless you reach a master number (11, 22 or 33), which is kept as-is. Numerology reduces a birth date to a single digit by repeated digit summation, a process mathematically identical to taking the digital root — which is the value modulo 9, with 9 used in place of 0. Master numbers 11, 22 and 33 are conventionally left unreduced. The arithmetic is well defined and the interpretation has no empirical basis: digital roots are a property of base-10 notation rather than of anything about a person, and the same date written in another base reduces differently.
